FedEx Feeders / Pushy customers?
« Last post by Av8tr1 on January 11, 2018, 08:19:00 PM »
How do you guys deal with pushy customers?  I had a outstation manager keep pushing me to depart with questionable weather.  I wanted time to get better weather reports and extra fuel but the manager kept telling me that I was going to be late departing.  He kept calling the destination ramp and asking them about the weather.  Official weather sources were showing ceilings at minimums with icing and turbulence all the way home.

I finally said as PIC I have final authority for when we depart and I am not going to depart till I am comfortable with the weather.

What are you guys doing with pushy customers?

FedEx Feeders / Christmas gifts?
« Last post by Apollo on January 10, 2018, 08:39:41 AM »
Hope everyone had a great holiday and peak season.  On my two days off for the holiday I got a chance to visit mum and dad for our usual Christmas dinner.  I took a bunch of pictures of the family.  We had a couple of new additions to the family.  I have a new niece and nephew.  Two new puppies.  All so cute!

I got a brand new digital camera.  It's one of those new types that stores all the photos on one of those little electronic cards.  Takes great photos.  I spent the whole trip taking lots of pictures with my digital camera.

I also got a really neat desk toy made of Neodymium magnets.  Boy those sure are some strong magnets.  When I got home I found it nearly welded to my new camera.  I left them both in my overnight bag and I guess the magnets were attracted to the metal in my new camera.  They are so strong I was able to lift nearly 50 pounds with them.  You can find them all over the place online.  https://www.amazon.com/Rare-Earth-Magnets/b?ie=UTF8&node=1265130011

I got some other neat stuff but nothing really worthwhile to write home about.

I think my camera might be defective though.  When I got home all my pictures were gone.  Not really sure what happened to them.  I must have hit the wrong button and erased them all.  I had some great pictures of the family even one of my hot Aunt May coming out of the bathroom in just a towel.

What did everyone else get for Christmas?

FedEx Feeders / Re: Cockpit Cameras

Did we ever get a real answer as to the intent of the cameras in the cockpits?  I've heard everything from making sure we are using our checklists to they are going to make a reality TV show about cargo pilots.

FedEx Feeders / Cockpit Cameras

Got in a caravan the other day and noticed the backpack of manuals hanging underneath the camera was full and some manuals sticking out. Interestingly one of the manuals was obscuring the camera view. Not sure if this was intentional.

Anyone like the camera and think it will make our day safer?

So word is FedEx is planning a flow through for the feeders.  Don’t have all the details yet but a survey just went out to the feeder company pilots to ask what would interest them in a program like that.

Fell off the top step of the Van and tried to defend myself from a vicious attack from gravity.  Gravity won......I'll be out till end of December.

That TKS stuff is slippery as snot!  Keep your feet down and your head up gang.
